The Flash is a one-design class based on the international one-design class the Splash, developed by Roel Wester, a very successful single-handed one-design class sailor himself, and the renowned designer Koos de Ridder.
The construction of the Flash is very strong. Built from GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic). This means that boats are competitive for at least ten years by normal maintenance. Sails are lasting for several years in regattas.
All ropes, spars, rudders, centreboard and the sails are identical. This implies that all sailors race with the same materials. The strongly tapered aluminum mast enhances greatly.
The Flash is easy to handle on all waters, even on waters with a lot of waves. The stability of the Flash is excellent. Also easy in handling and trimming for light weighted people (women).
Sailing in the Flash means international meeting in regattas with good sport, competition and friendship.
