Clutch for ships

These clutches are mechanical dog clutches, oil immersed. Operation is by lever, which can be connected to a cable for remote operation from say a wheelhouse or cab. A variety of hydraulic pumps can be fitted to the clutches. The clutches are bi-rotational, enabling clockwise and anticlockwise pumps to be used.
We recommend driving in line off the front of your engine crankshaft, or utilising your gearbox PTO if available. We can manufacture a suitable PTO stub shaft for your engine front pulley if required, and also stock a full range of flexible couplings.
Many marine gearboxes have a live PTO facility. We can advise which are suitable for a Clutch & Pump.
