LOUPSTM

Back in 2002 Aramid Rigging (now part of Southern Spars) began an R&D project with Yale Cordage to create a continuous loop product designed to replace steel shackles. From running backstays to guy block padeyes, LOUPSTM not only save weight, they also lower costs.

Inside a LOUPSTM there are a number of laps of a core material depending on the desired strength This core is of 12 strand construction and is made of Dyneema SK75 - the strongest grade of Dyneema made for our market. Dyneema is extremely durable and slippery. This ensure years of consistent strength without any interfiber chafe or degradation. The cover of a LOUPSTM is made of Spectra 1000 fiber, also known for its durability and chafe resistance. This is the same fiber used in everything from personal armour to mammoth commercial fishing nets. Finally, the cover is joined together and hand-sewn using Spectra thread.
