The Torque Transfer Luff rope is a light weight, low stretch luff rope that ensures quick deployment and furling of reaching sails that fly with a 'free' luff, (without the use of the headstay). The key to this new product is the ability to transfer torque when the furling unit is turned.
Application has been largely on racing boats. However, with short-handed cruising boats realizing the benefits of using a code zero sail, the Luff Rope offers particular appeal with the ease of setting and dousing. This Torque Transfer Rope is a lower cost option than a traditional furling cable. The Luff Rope can also be used on genoas, staysails or gennakers.
