The innovative Southco® Polar Latch design integrates magnetically actuated push-to-close convenience with secure deadbolt engagement for marine cabin applications where rough seas can cause enclosure contents to shift suddenly. The latch functions equally well in vertically aligned (drawer) or horizontally aligned (cabinet or wardrobe) applications, and is compatible with soft-close drawer runner systems. As the latch aligns with the frame-mounted keeper a magnet draws the deadbolt securely into the keeper with a soft, confirming click to tell the user that no additional action is needed to secure the door or drawer. Pressing the handle releases that magnetic attraction, disengaging the deadbolt and allowing the door to open. Marine grade material, stylish design and attractive finish options enhance its value as an ergonomic solution for upscale marine cabins.
