The new SCR presents the cutting edge of race sail design, with the optimal symmetry between aerodynamics, material selection and design. A symmetry defined by our goal, to create the best Competition Race sail in the world.
The development this year has gone towards making the sail lighter, this has been achieved by applying Q-Ply in the top half of the sail down to batten #5, thinner battens, thinner batten pockets and a sail profile which creates more draft forward. With a leverage effect this makes the SCR considerably lighter in your hands which promotes more control and better handling traits. With it's softer characteristics Q-Ply also promotes the progressive twist and better pump-ability. More control which effectively enables a wider wind range due to our unique 2 part drop shaped
batten construction. Our tubes are designed to bend more in the front and less in the back. 100% carbon in the back transforms into less carbon content in the front to create the desired curve. Our Symmetric Batten Pocket Design offers major performance advantages. They create a perfect aerodynamic symmetry on both tacks of the sail, as well as reducing the weight and increasing the strength by using less seams and material. In addition, The Kevlar Stretch Control tendon allow for a deeper sail profile in the lower part of the sail, keeping the sail integrity intact when the stronger gusts hit you, delivering a remarkable powerful and stable performance.
