New for 2012 the Shearwater "Venture",
10 meter long, weight 2500kg and diesel powered.
It is based on a traditional deep V hull to cope with rougher sea conditions, giving a dry comfortable ride. The decks are self draining to simplify long term marina mooring and clear water from the decks quickly when at sea. It has been given a CE category B rating and can carry 12 persons.
It is similar in design to our existing 860, just larger in scale with a permanent electric toilet in the cabin and windlass as standard. It has improved seating and storage; all the cushions are quickly removable for storage below when not in use. We have just completed a deluxe helm seat with fridge and sink in the back. The Venture is finished to a very high standard.
This first hull has the Yanmar 6cyl 315hp, with this we are reaching 41kn and using on average 20 litres of diesel per hour. The Venture has a 500l fuel tank to allow a long range cruising.
We have other more powerful engine options available
