SHERLOG TA SDT International

The SDT Sherlog TA (Type Approved) is primarily used for hatch cover tightness testing with an internal sensor, an external flexible sensor and a powerful ultrasonic transmitter (multisetting). As requested by the IACS Unified Requirement Z.17, the SDT Sherlog TA has been formally type approved by classification societies. These include the all-important LRS, ABS, DNV, RMRS and HRS. Currently the Sherlog TA is the only instrument of its kind in the world to hold these many high-level approvals.

Among its many features the SHERLOG TA offers a unique software routine, dedicated to hatch cover ultrasonic tightness testing to memorize, log and download to PC all measured survey data and allow detailed and accurate reporting.

Furthermore, it can be used for other valuable on-ship applications such as electrical (detection of arcing, corona and tracking) and mechanical inspections (detection of problems on steam traps, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, pumps,... ). For maximising effectiveness of these other applications, the SDT Sherlog can be used in combination with different optional external ultrasonic and non-ultrasonic sensors.

From the above, it will be appreciated that the SDT Sherlog offers unprecedented and unheard-of accurate and reliable tightness testing possibilities. This is one of the reasons why the SDT Sherlog ultrasonic tightness testing equipment has been type approved by several IACS and Non-IACS Classification Societies such as LRS, ABS, DNV, RMRS and HRS.
