Oil tanker cargo ship ARCTIC SHUTTLE

In 2007, SHI built a 70,000-ton, bi-directional Arctic shuttle tanker, which was the first ever of its kind. In 2014, the company successfully obtained orders for 6 additional ice-breaking oil tankers from European shipping companies. The tankers are designed to break ice measuring up to 1.4 meters thick at a speed of 3.5 knots and operate in extreme temperatures of up to -45 °C. Arctic shuttle tanker combining an ice-breaker with an oil tanker is highly recognized as a new type of ship that drastically improves transportation efficiency.
