The Iridium System on which the IMF 1000 operates is the first
truly global satellite network for telecommunication. It provides
global spot beam coverage for satellite telephones and offers
also unique cross-over protocol raming facilities for all existing
telephones. 66 cross-linked Low Earth Orbit satellites (LEOs)
form a worldwide grid only 780 km above Earth. The Iridium
antenna always can see 3 satellites at the same time which
ensures good contact at all times and guarantees a clear signal
irrespective of the distance between the communicating parties.

The IMF 1000 is well-suited for all types of vessels %u2013 from fishing
boats and cargo ships to powerboats, yachts and cruise liners
