Despite the fact that the project is in the first phase of its development and that design is still in the preliminary drafts, a decision has been made. The new model of Salona will have 60 feet and design will be signed by Jason Ker, a talented Englishman that is known to the world as a designer of South African team Shosholoza for the 32nd America's Cup.
The first sailboat is being built for a famous customer. Entering of Salona into arena with the world's most prestigious shipyards is actually a result of a need for larger models of Salona expressed by many satisfied customers of the Salona 45.
Furthermore, there is a significant step forward in terms of quality of construction and in terms of the whole concept of the yacht that will positively be reflected on the existing models of shipyard, too.
"We continue to invest in our future despite crisis," says CEO of Salona Group KreZimir Sečak, "As the economy and the industry will pull out of the recent downturn, we are aiming to emerge stronger than ever."
