Boat capstan

Following the success of its smooth-running and maintenance-free winches, Rondal was requested to design and manufacture hydraulically driven capstans for the 78-metre Tea Clipper, Stad Amsterdam.
Five specially designed stainless steel capstans take care of a number of sail handling functions. Although they are hydraulically operated, the capstans can be manually operated by inserting wooden spokes in the openings on top.
Most recently, we delivered a capstan for the 58.5-metre Chistian Radich. Other tall ship projects are expected in the near future.
