The range of bow and stern thrusters has been developed and extended to include thrusters that incorporate the latest research findings and results of extensive trials in ship design laborato-ries and at sea. QL bow and stern thrus-ters are approved to 94/25/EEC.
The very efficient transfer of energy from motor to propeller, combined with the hydrodynamically shaped lower gear housing make QL bow and stern thrus-ters the most powerful in their respecti-ve power ranges. The design of the gear housing and propellers permits a large volume of water to pass through the tunnel, which in turn gives more power in relation to electricity consumption.
BP300 and BP450 have gear housings of acid-resistant steel with smaller di-mensions, which therefore provide even better throughput. All propellers come in High Speed specification, i.e. they are manufactured from glass fibre rein-forced acetal. A built-in electronic delay prevents damage to the motor through immediate switching of the direction of rotation."
