The Portland Pudgy is a joy to row. Every Portland Pudgy comes with oars, and two sets of oarlock sockets and an easily adjustable middle seat allow you to optimize your rowing position. The Pudgy tracks perfectly because of the long skeg. (For the same reason, it tows beautifully. It comes with a Y-shaped bridle for towing.)

Safety: The Pudgy is very buoyant, and yet so stable, you can stand up and walk around in it. It is very difficult to capsize the Pudgy, but if it does capsize it is very easy to right it, using the hand-holds in the keel. Believe it or not, if comes up virtually dry because of the thick side walls. It's very easy to climb back in. Because of the Pudgy's buoyancy and stability, its USCG-rated capacity is as great as that of many ten-foot dinghies.

Versatility: The Pudgy's stability and ease of handling make it a great yacht tender, a good platform for diving, duck hunting, or fishing, and a fun boat for kids.
