The Pedigree Cat 105' has been custom designed for a corporation located in California. The corporation plans to charter the yacht around the world. The Pedigree Cat 105' will also be used as a research vessel catering to universities and private firms. Ed Horstman of Tri-Star was commissioned to design this yacht. Up to then, Lock Crowther was the primary designer to conceive of these large catamarans. New technology in hydrodynamics as well as super strong, lightweight materials led to the need for a new design. At 41' wide, there is more than 85 percent more room than a 105' monohull.
