The "SSH-2009" steering simulator is designed to train ratings forming part of a navigational watch on seagoing and river vessels. The simulator will: train ratings to gain competence, knowledge, understanding & professionalism needed for the function Navigation at the support level (columns 1 & 2 of Table A-II/4 of STCW Code) demonstrate competence obtained from training or approved in-service experience (column 3 of Table A-II/ 4 of the STCW Code) evaluate competence in accordance with the criteria listed in column 4 of Table A-II/4 of the STCW Code Knowledge and skills covered
