This film has been developed by ORCA Maritime. It is a worldwide unique Anti Corrosion Film to be used instead of topcoat paints on the superstructures and hulls of ships and marine structures above water level. This Anti Corrosion Film is a new concept and an absolute revolution for the maintenance and preservation of marine structures. The use of Anti Corrosion Film offers many advantages over all conventional paints. The 100 micron film is impervious to water and chlorides and applied with a special technique similar to wall papering, it established a barrier over the steel primer coat. The ORCA Offshore Film 9800HT has a specially formulated acrylic adhesive backing that adheres to steel and keeps water and chlorides from seeping beneath. A steel primer is applied just as for conventional paint systems. When applying to aluminium or fibreglass no primer is necessary, the ORCA Offshore Film 9800HT is applied directly to a clean surface. Application on existing painting systems is possible as long as the paint is in an acceptable condition.
