Kevlar scrim. Kevlar is the industrial name for Aramid. Is a high-tenacity fiber and has a low weight. It is widely used in the production of racing sails. North Sails designers are able to combine together different Kevlar laminates (you can obtain different cloth weight in the same sail) in order to obtain the best combination of weight, resistance, performance and price, according to your needs.
Cloth Options: many types of laminates can be used for panelled sails, according to the design and different needs of the customer. Besides using its own North Cloth products, North Sails also buys cloth from other companies; this allows a better range in the choice of cloth.
Characteristics: leggerezza, rigidita' e basso allungamento.
Weights: from 7.000 to 23.000 dpi.
Colors: gold and fumé yellow.
UV Resistance: low.
