The story behind the boat is that when Pelle Petterson participated in the America's Cup in Newport in 1977, he saw his competitors use robust support. When he returned home, he sat at his drawing board and created a Swedish equivalent of the boats he had seen; an open, stable boat with a large self-bailing loading deck and a centrally located helm position.
