The Panther 57 MK II Ultra Fast Patrol Boat represents the advancement of Motomarine products in the 21st Century. The Panther 57 MK II is the flagship of Motomarine and the Hellenic Coast Guard. The hard chine deep V hull built from Carbon Fiber provides additional strength and increases the strength to weight ratio per panel supplying reduced overall weight whilst increasing in strength comparing with its predecessor. The new twin MTU 12V200M91 diesel engine propulsion plant is close coupled with a ZF reduction-reversing gearbox which is connected on a twin screw five blade surface piercing propeller system. The vessel in this configuration manages to achieve the maximum speed of 50+ knots whilst maintaining its advanced sea keeping capabilities. Onboard the wheelhouse the five operators enjoy the in-house ergonomic design of Motomarine which supplies specific duties to each manning post of the 5 man crew. The modular design allows the authority operating same to interchange weapon arrangements to better suit mission profiles. The ECDIS electronic system onboard allows for a total fleet information feedback loop with the central Coast Guard command providing amongst others rapid target information management while simultaneously delivering same to central command for analysis. Although the Panther 57 extends over fifty-seven feet the speed of 50 knots is well above the leading industry standard. Moreover, the sharp bow entry incorporated in the hull design of the Panther 57 MKII makes her capable of reaching the speed of 40 Knots even in Sea State 5 in rough weathers intercepting its targets under the most adverse sea conditions.
