The 42 cockpit is laid out for cruising, with very comfortable seating and a roomy cockpit locker. Visibility forward is exceptional. You can gain a good view past the bow without the need for a raised helm seat. And the broad expanse of smooth cabin top provides sure footing for doing a harbor furl of the mainsail.
