Meyer Werft

Cargo ship : container ship (shipyard)
HASNA HAMBURG Meyer Werft

In 1999 an issuing house for the ship shareholders was founded by Harald Block: Hansa Hamburg Shipping International GmbH & Co. KG. Its innovative fleet policy raised worldwide interest, for instance the construction of six new double-hull tankers type SCOT 8000, which are identical in design. These ships exceed the hitherto highest standards for tankers. Moreover, Hansa Hamburg Shipping International offers shareholders stock in large double-hull tankers for the transportation of raw material, such as crude oil.

For this company Meyer Werft built an innovate four-unit series of container ships: the Eilbek, the Reinbek, the Flottbek and the Barmbek. These ships have the highest ice class (Finnish-Swedisch 1 A super for operation in winter without ice-breaker on the St. Lawrence River, the Great Lakes in North America, the Arctic sea and the Baltic), and can be operated very flexibly thanks to the folding hatch covers.
