Where more power is needed, the 6-cylinder 4.2L rounds out the Mercury Diesel Tier 2 line. Designed for sterndrive and inboard applications and featuring a high-pressure common rail fuel system and SmartCraft capability, this compact diesel offers reduced noise and improved sociability up to 350hp. With a gear-driven camshaft and patented tunnel design crankcase with wet liners, this diesel is extremely durable. Impressive acceleration and precise throttle response are the result of a proven common rail fuel system that includes a turbocharger and seawater aftercooler. An advanced Control Unit with SmartCraft compatibility provides system monitoring and control.
