Sailboat : classic sailing-yacht (schooner)
SHENANDOAH
McMullen & Wing
- 44.2m
145' 0"ft
Built in New York in 1902, S.Y. Shenandoah arrived in New Zealand in an advanced state of decay, just a short step away from no repair.
Restoration requiredaround 80% of the original steel plate-work to be replaced. Arriving at McMullen & Wing as a bare shell Shenandoah filled the newly-built slipway shed, remaining there until her launch in July 1997.
Involving staff from all trades to complete her restoration, Shenandoah is still considered by many to be one of the world's most beautiful three-masted classic yachts sailing our waters.
