The MD51' is a motorboat that capitalises on Maxi Dolphin%u2019s experience with sailing boats, the use of innovative materials such as Kevlar and carbon fibre, the application of modern technologies and the choice of a refined, elegant but at the same time essential design. A super-modern mega-tender yet of retro inspiration. Shapes are based on 1930s%u2019 style or historic American cabriolets %u2013 a chic contrast that plays counterpoint with today%u2019s super-tech materials: the entire boat is in fact made of composite materials using sprint technology - carbon-Kevlar-fibreglass baked at 84°C.
The engines are masterpieces of technology: the Maxi Dolphin 51%u2019Power has two 435-HP Volvo Penta IPS 600 engines and mounts specially-positioned propellers to give high performance at top speeds as well as reduced fuel consumption. A Volvo Penta joystick system allows full control when manoeuvring in any direction.
