Boat sacrificial anode : zinc
Max-Prop
The most important use for the zinc is as a protective layer on other metals.
The principal of the cathodes protection is to maintain in a state of "Immunity" the cathode (in this specific case the prop) corroding instead the anode, for this reason named sacrificial.
The anode protects the prop from galvanic corrosion caused by induced current running.
The sacrificial anode must not be painted or covered (in this case it would be interrupted the flow of electrons) and during the mounting it is necessary that there is a good metal contact between the surface of the anode and the surface where it is mounted.
The sacrificial zinc anode should be substituted at least once a year.
We supply all the zinc anodes models for all the Max-Prop range of products. (even for applications on our first Max-Prop models of the '70s).
