The super fast event boat Extreme 40 (X40), another all carbon product, was launched in 2005. We have built the complete boat since boat number five. The first series consisted of five boats and had beams and foils from Heol Composite in France. The first five boats were raced in the ports where the Volvo Ocean Race had stopovers. The model has become a One Design Class sailing the iShares Cup. Four more boats were built in 2007 and until the season 2009 nineteen boats have been completed and delivered

The Extreme 40 is the new generation of mid size sport catamaran sure to set the standard for exciting inshore sailing. At first intended to provide the inshore racing at Volvo Ocean Race stops this racing Cat has developed into its own class. Extreme short course racing puts high demands on the 4-man crew. With 19 boats racing and more to come it provides exciting racing for many of the world's best sailors. Marström builds the complete package, spars included.
