The main features:
Main sail
The standard patented L20 rig is a modern version of a gunter rig. The performance of this rig is comparable to that of the common bermuda rig, but it allows to use a much shorter mast for easy transport. Standard you will sail the L20 without a boom, greatly reducing the chance on head injuries. The L20 is equipped with carbon mast profiles and Dyneema stays. Carbon is much lighter than aluminium and increases the balance of the boat
Jib
The L20 carries a small jib on a standard furler. Because the mast is positioned close to the bow, the L20 even sails excellent without the jib, making it simple to sail the boat single handed or in stronger winds.
For light weather, you can use the optional gennaker.
Safety
In contrast with the traditional designs, the L20 floats high on the water which makes the boat dryer to sail and gives a much safer feeling. With the closed compartments below deck, the L20 is virtually unsinkable. Unlike other boats, the L20 has no small holes to drain water, but has a semi-open transom will loose water the way it should. This and the stable hull make the L20 suitable for open water. In addition, the watertight sealed carbon mast profiles provide excellent floatation for added safety.
