We spend half a season doing various tests and adjustment on the canopy, to get to a superb flying object like the HAWK; we went all the way beyond the philosophy of bow kites.
The first step to create a 2th generation bow, was to remove the pulley from the bar , but still able to de-power 99%, keeping a light pressure on the bar, smooth feeling with good speed.
The second step was to keep the de-power line to a standard length, while keeping the
characteristic of a bow huge de-power : the result was excellent.
We reduced the power line up to 35 cm only, practically very similar to a normal power line, but
still be able to de-power the kite 99%.
Fantastic result seen that is combined to a normal 45 or 55 cm bar.
The third, but not the last, was to find a very good balance of the front pressures to keep the kite steady in strong and gusty winds; thanks to a very fast canopy, a classic bar, no pulley on the front bridles the gust is manage instinctively with out even realize.
One of the target for hawk are "WAVES" with a directional board, using the HAWK ability of de-power all the way and the float into the air, for a better free surf, regain the power back by simply pull the bar against you and go back to catch another wave !!
HAWK with is conventional bar is also perfect for freestyle un-hooked, thanks to the speed and floating abilities; the free-riders will be amazed from the superior qualities of the HAWK, compare to normal C kite, better canopy profile deliver more speed
