A trimaran is an interesting answer to the problems of a small offshore cruising multihull. The flared main hull has accommodation similar to a monohull with a real double cabin, dinette, standing headroom at the galley, toilets and another double under the cockpit. Add to this high average speed to increase fun and range, lack of heel, shoal draft and large deck area. Pulsar 33 been designed from the start for cruising, an inboard engine was specified, we did not want a board casing in the main hull and safe drying out was required. We therefore adapted to the trimaran floats our sophisticated keels which work so well on our catamaran designs. The engine is exactly amidships under a raised saloon floor and the keel fairs its shaft. Long buoyant floats provide safety and power in strong winds. The three rudders control perfectly the boat under sail or in tight corners under engine. The rig is extremely efficient with its rotating carbon mast yet easy to handle with the jib roller and the lazy-jacks. The fixed pole makes spinnaker handling a child play. The composite beams may be unbolted for easy wintering or simply glassed to the floats.
