Kahlenberg began manufacturing marine propellers at the turn of the century. At that time, our propellers were supplied as an accessory item with engines of the same name. Naturally, the experience gained in the design and manufacture of propellers during the past 100 years is a priceless heritage passed on to our customers in the form of better propellers, correctly designed for superior strength and performance.

Kahlenberg is most widely known for designing extremely rugged and dependable work boat propellers. The greatest single reason for the unsurpassed strength of Kahlenberg Propellers is that they are designed to exceed industry standards with regard to blade root and blade edge thickness. This provides for greater resistance to damage.

We utilize the latest propeller design software, and reference over 40 years of accumulated vessel records kept in our database. By using both of these resources, we give our customers the added security and confidence that their Kahlenberg Propellers are the best available for their particular application. Especially when considering a propeller for use in shallow or debris filled waters, know that heavy duty workboat propellers designed by Kahlenberg will keep you in operation, not in dry dock.

Kahlenberg primarily manufactures and repairs three to five blade fixed pitch propellers up to ten feet in diameter. We manufacture to our own designs as well as those supplied by the customer, routinely following ISO R484 and ABS guidelines. Accurately machined propeller hub bores are assured by blue-fitting with precision machined taper mandrels, while accurate pitch is attained through the use of a Hale M.R.I. Propeller Scanning System.. Static balancing is standard practice, with dynamic balancing also being available.
