Motor-boat : express-cruiser (downeast) John M Williams STANLEY 38
More than just a day boat, the 38 provides gracious overnight and local cruising accommodations.
The Stanley 38 is a traditional semi-displacement hull with a reasonably flat section aft, a slight dead rise and a soft chine. It has a little rocker in the bottom and a deep forefront that helps hold her up in the wind when docking. She cruises comfortably at 18 knots and tops out around 20-23 knots. Fifty percent of all the hulls we've built since 1972 are owned by commercial fishermen so you know right away that she's built for safety in open waters, sea kindliness and steadfast durability.
