Boat drive shaft universal joint UJ10

The Jefa 10 series universal joints are machined out of solid aluminium 6082 with an aluminium 7075 spider to achieve maximum strength combined with a minimum of weight. The maximum torque that can be transmitted is 40.5 KgfM. The connection of the universal joint to gearbox shafts is done via Ø25 mm hole with twin keys which is tightened with a bolt. The connection to the torque tubes is achieved with a clamp with keys using the outside of the universal joint. Please click on the pictures for a larger view. The maximum allowable working angle of the universal joints is 25 degrees. Each universal joints has to be in the correct position relative to the other. Universal joints have an inequality in rotation, but working as a set and correctly aligned, the inequality disappears as the other universal joint has the opposite inequality.
