Through the intensive cultivation of professional technology manpower for high value added shipbuilding, Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction began building LPG carriers with the 'Ulsan Gas' in 1988.After the 'Hanjin Pyeongtaek,' the first membrane-type LNG carrier in Asia built in 1995, we successfully completed the 'Hanjin Muscat,' 'Hanjin Sur' and 'Hanjin Ras Laffan.' This new kind of LNG carrier was developed through continuing investment in R&D. By resuming the building of LNG carriers in 2006, we became the only Korean shipbuilder with the technology for two kinds of membrane-type LNG carriers. Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction will intensively pursue global strategies for gas carriers by linking its Subic and Yeongdo Shipyards.
