Schuller and Allan (Houston, TX) was chosen for the design team. A 3-D model of the hull -- including internals and neat shell expansion -- was created and used for hydrostatic, hydrodynamic and lofting purposes.
The Z bow position was employed for this offshore catamaran to increase waterline length and reserve buoyancy in order to give the vessel improved motion characteristics. Being a full ocean "200 mile ticket" vessel, an enhanced and strengthened nacelle and forebody allow this vessel to handle some of the worst conditions the Gulf may impose.
