The Rescue Laser Flare® Magnum offers several major advantages over conventional pyrotechnic flares. Able to fit it in your survival gear or attached to a lifejacket, this signaling device boasts a long-life laser diode with up to 10,000 hours meantime to failure and can run for 72 hours on easily replaceable AA batteries. Under optimal nighttime conditions, the laser is visible up to 20 miles (32 km) away. It is effective up to 3 miles away in daytime and can locate reflective material up to one mile (1.6 km) away.
