Group: Grand Large Yachting
Sailboat : cruising sailing-yacht (deck saloon)
- 26,20m 85' 11"
This carbon yacht built by the French boatyard Garcia is an 86-foot sloop. Designed by P. Frutschi with the Joubert-Nivelt studio for the naval architecture, the Garcia 86 is a superyacht with a sailplan conforming to modern governing rules.
Therefore, teak has been used on the entire surface; all the rigging systems are power-assisted by new-generation equipment so that the yacht can be sailed with a reduced number of crew members. The combination of a large sail area and long waterline guarantees a performance in line with the most recent racing "maxis".
The deck design is also fruit of careful study into the needs of modern owners. The transom is on the same level as the cockpit, thus creating a single roomy wheelhouse/sundeck area that means the crew can move about easily even during the most frenetic stages of the race, or that the ladies can sunbathe during cruises.
Forwards of the command area, equipped with a double wheelhouse, there is a secondary cockpit fitted out with two long benches down the sides.
Meliti has been launched in 2004.
