Description

Launched in 2002, the one-off Garcia 70 has been designed to sail fast, far and comfortably by Joubert-Nivelt (hull) and Pierre Frutschi (interior). Sitka is a unique luxurious aluminium centerboarder. Sitka is a proper yacht with splendid lines, enhanced by her attractive hull paint. She features a totally flush teak deck, a powerful sail plan and NACA profiled centerboard and rudders. Built to have a range, water and fuel capacities sufficient to cross oceans at an average speed of 9 knots, this Garcia 70 can be handled by one or two crew. Among the deck layout features, the hydraulic system controlling the lifting centerboard, the propeller, the windlass and the aft sail furlers is remarkable. The mainsail furls into the boom and the halyard is controlled by an electric winch located close to the helm.
