Futura designed the tandems so that the heavier person paddles in front and controls the standard rudder system. With the rudder system in the front, a single person can paddle the tandem by themselves. The Tandem Sport. is a great value and is the kayak of choice for many rental facilities because it's so durable and easy to climb back on.
