The RL-SOLAS meets both U.S.C.G. (46 CFR 161.012) and S.O.L.A.S. (Saving of Life at Sea) requirements only when powered by a 3V lithium battery (included). S.O.L.A.S. standards are set by the International Marine Organization (I.M.O.) to which 176 countries are signatories. The 3V lithium battery has a 10 year shelf life and is also available from Forespar®. Similar in performance to the RL-2.
