A very robust skimmer. Structure in stainless steel. Generally, this type of skimmer takes more water compared to brush-, drum-, or disc skimmers. In spite of this, this type of skimmer is the most widely used when operation with high volume spills and thick oil layers. This is due to the simple design and dependability.

The smaller models are operated with external pump while the larger skimmers have pumps built in. The amount of oil being guided into the pump is regulated by the positioning of the surface flotation ring. This is automatically adjusted through the speed of the pump.
