Sheltered waters floating oil boom (inflatable)
SHORE Expandi

In inter-tidal areas, or at riverbanks where water levels may be expected to fluctuate, it is necessary to ensure that a seal is maintained at the waterline as the water level rises and falls. Shore sealing booms can be deployed to do just that.

Shore sealing booms function through water-filled lower (ballast) and air-filled upper (float) chambers that automatically adjust to changing water levels.

Shore sealing booms are most effective when used on mud or sandy areas. Care must be applied before deploying on sites with boulders, sharp protrusions, rip-rap, or other challenges that may puncture the boom. Surfaces that may prevent tight sealing resulting in oil leaking under the boom when the tide changes should also be avoided.
