Hydraulically or electrically driven reels developed for storage and deployment of oil booms. The reel itself and the framework has sea water resistant coating. The equipment is easy to handle and secures a safe and effective deployment of oil booms. The reels may be effectively used with hoses, ropes, fish nets, etc. as well.

Drive units (motor, gear and valves) are protected against corrosion by means of high quality, sea water resistant paint according to Norwegian specifications.

The boom reel can be delivered with fork lift channels and lifting points for crane operation.

The reels are delivered with corner plates for fastening to container or quay. Alternatively, corner plates can be delivered with ISO corners with Twist-Locks. The reels require minimal maintenance.

As an option, the reels can be fitted with Free Wheeling system for a controlled deployment of the boom without connecting the reel to a power
pack in emergency situations.
