Commercial and industrial "run-off" is an increasing contributor to our water pollution problem. Boat washing can produce run-off containing fine solids, hydrocarbons, algae, heavy metals, paint toxins, and toxic chemicals. Federal regulations prohibit this type of discharge--known as non-point source pollution.
