Sailboat wood and bronze classic block
Dryade
Classic Blocks
Combining the traditional cabinet-making skills of the Jura Arc with the microtechnique and watchmaking expertise of the Haut-Doubs, Dryade blocks emphasise the timeless qualities of wood and bronze.
Blending tradition and modernity, the blocks bring beauty and performance to rigging. Before the shells are hand finished, their particular shape is refined by pencil and tool in the light of technical criteria. The straps and sheaves are designed and manufactured to meet the qualities demanded by the sea and our vessels.
Dryade blocks are made in a wide variety of sizes accepting sheaves of diameters from 30 to 160 mm in standard series. The technical and marine shells, in noble wood of various species, are worked in coffee bean form and curved on the inside of the cheeks so that the rigging can be passed easily while keeping chaffing to a minimum.
Sharp angles are eliminated in order to lend softness to the forms and to guarantee long varnish life. The finished shells are protected by multiple coats of standard varnish.
