The DOER Sea Mantis Five Function hydraulic manipulator has been receiving rave reviews both for its power and design. Created by DOER's Deep Machine Division, Sea Mantis is made of rugged aluminum and incorporates off the shelf components for ease of maintenance and repair. The standard "lobster claw" jaws are field interchangeable with the Mandible Cutter (shown), and parallel closure jaws.

Custom end effectors and tools are available. Wrist has 360 degree continuous rotation. Proportional control is provided via RS232 or RS485 and a USB joystick. Using the Mandible cutter, Sea Mantis deftly slices through steel cables, Kevlar, hardened steel rod, umbilical cables and even frozen rack of lamb. Sea Mantis may be adapted to existing valve pack systems and is ideally suited for larger inspection class & small to medium size work class ROVs, along with manned submersibles.
