Classic boat : open boat

- 4.88m 16' 0"ft I am guessing that most boat designers spend a great deal of time musing about the use of these little boats that we design, and as we mature and our lives change at the rate of what seems like the "speed of sound" these days, the following design was the outgrowth of such a daydream. The seed no doubt planted early in the morning in my shop on some cold winter day with the daydream of beach cruising some warm place, perhaps Mexico's Sea of Cortez, with the sky an azure blue, the water crystalline clear and clean. A warm beach waiting to be explored, remote, uninhabited and with treasures galore to be found. The question is why design another small outboard skiff when so many exist on the marketplace? But with a little research there seems to be not as many designs on the market as I first surmised and the desire for a small skiff that can truly be beached and used on the waterfront is a strong one, and the following design is the result.
