Racing sailboat ORC GP 42
GP42 AIRIS Décision

- 12.8m 42' 0"ft "Finishing third in the first event (Trofeo Pirelli, Santa Margherita (ITA), May 1-4 2008), after only a few hours' practice, and having launched the boat no more than two weeks ago is a huge achievement. I must thank both the designer and the shipyard staff who did a fantastic job. The whole project started just 9 months ago. I consider this as a starting point, of course, we still have much to do as far as sails and speed testing is concerned. I congratulate my crew, they sailed great."
"It's great for a new boat to win the second event it participates (Giraglia Rolex Cup, Saint-Tropez (FR), June 8-10) . I felicitate the designer, the boat yard and of course the crew. The key to victory was to stay concentrated during the entire event and for that reason we started 4th in the last day but finished 1st. I feel this boat has great potential, don't forget it's only her third month! The organization was perfect and I call more boat owners to come to the GP42 class because racing is spectacular."
