First we have the fast interceptors, which can operate independently or can be launched from a parent ship. The interceptors are relatively small (up to 26 metres) in order to reach the maximum performance when in pursuit. The medium-sized vessels are often put into service by customs and coastguards. They are also ideal rescue vessels. The largest patrol vessels go up to 90 metres, still having the ability to skim over the water at high velocity.
