Pack 1 is a 6 stranded compacted rope. It is typically used as a hoist rope for overhead cranes in factories and steel works. It is also used for trolley and luffing duties on tower cranes.

Pack 1 has multiple uses on container and or unloader cranes and is used as a boom hoist rope on crawler and dockside cranes. It is also ideal as a general purpose rope for winches.
